Do you want to travel the world, yet you’re stuck in your bedroom, avoiding your parents, stressing about school, friends, boys, and just life in general? Well, now there’s a pretty amazing virtual world that lets you interact with people from all over the place, get an idea of what different countries are like, and wile away the hours exploring and playing online, all from the comfort of your own room.
Habbo Hotel is made up of 30 different hotels, each of which represents a different country. For example, there’s a hotel for Singapore, the UK, Mexico, Norway and the US, as well as 25 other amazing places from all over the world. You create your Habbo avatar at the beginning of the game, and then start exploring each of the 30 hotels, talking and chatting with other users along the way.
In an attempt to make things just a bit more realistic, Habbo Hotel has a chat system that works by distance between users: you can talk to the person right in front of you, and hear the people within a few “tiles,” and then everything else starts to blur out. This lets you know what’s going on around you, while limiting interruptions in conversations.

While the chat feature is the main component of this world, you can also play games, decorate an apartment, and discover different shops, restaurants, and public spaces. For your protection (and your parent’s peace of mind) the site is monitored 24-7, so you don’t have to worry too much about any creepsters or bullying. And, if you get bored chatting and gossiping, there are also games scattered throughout to kill some time. All in all, Hobo Hotel takes traveling the world to the virtual world, and can make passing the time till graduation just a little bit easier!
Habbo Hotel is free to play.
