Dance Central 3 is one of the most popular dance games out there and a leading dance game franchise. It has beautiful, fluid animations, creative dance routines for beginning dancers and experienced dancers, and the use of the Kinect which allows you to use your entire body to dance along with the game.
The third installment in the series keeps the same essence of the gameplay, but with a much more improved experience. You can still do various dance moves and choreography that match the accompanying music. The elements included with the dancing is what makes this sequel different form the rest. It has a story mode, a diverse soundtrack that includes new and classic hit dance songs and a party time mode. This sequel is the best game of the franchise thus far.
Dancing is still and will always be the most important aspect of the game. This game features a new level of difficulty that keeps the moves simple so lesser skilled players can still enjoy the game. On the other hand, the dances on the hardest difficult setting are much more challenging and demanding, including complex routines that would give a pro a run for their money.
The characters in the game are good looking and stylish individuals that are smoothly animated, making the dance choreography look beautiful on screen. Gameplay consists of cue cards scrolling on the side of the screen which indicate the next move in the routine. Your movements must match the dance move being performed on the screen, with your arms and legs matching the dancer onscreen. If you miss, the dancer on screen becomes outlined in red, informing you that you made a mistake.
Luckily, you have the option to rehearse dance moves or songs as many times as you want. You can even slow down the movements if you’re having trouble. You can also have the Kinect display footage of you dancing on the screen alongside the in-game character so that you can compare your movements to the character on screen. You can pick up on what moves you’re not getting right and fix the problem.
There are simple and easy to follow dance moves along with more complex dance moves. You don’t have to be an expert dancer to enjoy the game. In fact, your dance skills will probably improve as you move on to different difficulty settings. The game can help you develop awesome moves to show off at parties and clubs!
